Sunday Sermon by Preacher Elder Annie Tsen
1 Samuel 17:1-50
The threatening Goliath
Do not create Goliath in our own life. When there is Goliath placed in our life, trust God to fight with us.
Facing the Goliath
Romans 8:15
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, " Abba, Father."
Luke 1:37
37 For nothing is impossible with God."
Stay focus and Act in faith
45 David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.
1 John 4:4
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Conclusion
God is bigger and stronger.
Psalm 27:1-2
1 The LORD is my light and my salvation- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life- of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.
Romans 8:37
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Courage is not the absence of fear but despite and in spite of fear, we rise up above the fear.
Faith births forth Courage. We grow faith through worship and prayer. Focus on God and not on the Goliath.
Know (Ya-da) God through experiences and not on just head knowledge.
