The awe-inspiring waterfall is situated between Zimbabwe and Zambia, where it takes a plunge of around 354 feet (108 metres) over a plateau of a volcanic rock. The waterfall spans more than a mile (1.6 kilometres) across the Zambezi River, and is considered to be one of the biggest waterfalls in the world. The mist formed from the gushing waters of this spectacle can be seen from more than 12 miles (19 kilometres) away, giving it the name of Mosi-oa-Tunya or “the smoke that thunders”.
