On Your Wedding Day

Here comes the bride, beautiful and bright.

I did something special as a mid-year break for myself, I flew from KK to Kuching to join a GB Officer's wedding. It was so sweet of Cindy to invite us personally with a sweet gift and we know that she really put much effort into inviting her guests to her wedding. 

So Jovie and I managed to get a good fare to fly over and I was so blessed to have a friend who let us stay in his condo at Riverine Sapphire R12-10 Unit, it was a lovely newly renovated condo and just nice to stay in for 2 nights.

Look at how many GB officers who flew in to join her wedding, not to mention her own friends from other parts of Malaysia.

During the Wedding ceremony, it was short and sweet. Here is the sermon of Cindy and Kenneth's wedding ceremony at Trinity Methodist Church, Kuching on 21 June 2019, 10 am. The sermon is entitled : Happily Ever After.

Last but not least, I would like to share the Marriage Recipe with you two, may you follow the recipe and have a great enriching experiences as a couple.

The Marriage Recipe:

1/2 lb good looks 

1lb sweet temper

1lb butter of youth

1lb blindness of faults

1lb of wit

1lb good humour

2lb of sweet argument

1 pint of rippling laughter

1 wine glass of common sense

a dash of modesty

Put the love good looks and a sweet temper into a well furnished house.

Beat the butter of youth into a cream,

and mix well together with the blindness of faults.

Stir the wit and good humour into the sweet argument

then add the rippling laughter and common sense.

Work the whole thing together until everything is well mixed,

and bake gently forever.

Enjoy the "marriage cake" forever!

God of Heaven by Heather Sorenson

I was introduced to this song by a blogger, it is a very good song about God. This is not the type of song you sing to ask God for something, it is a song to declare who God is. The author, Heather Sorenson wrote how this song came to be :-

“The piece ‘God of Heaven’ was a personal response to my morning devotions a couple months ago. Something that I have been actively working on is to shift my relationship with God from a “give me/bless me/help me” vending machine to learning and knowing who God is. As I was reading through the book of Job during a particularly difficult week, I was hit with the fact that God’s response to Job did not include the solutions that I always ask for. God’s words to Job didn’t specifically offer the hope and comfort that I often beg God for in difficult times. God’s response in Job 38-41 was to show who He is. As I moved on to the rest of my day, I sat down to write a completely different song, but I was so moved by who God is, that ‘God of Heaven’ came out instead. I pray that this piece will bless both your choir and your congregation as you continue to build your relationship with God your Father.”
